Sometimes we are so focused on getting cash in our bank account and thinking so highly of the money factor that we forget to actually push and motivate ourselves to become something. Because without a little motivation, we can and will never become SUCCESSFUL. All the most successful and wealthiest people around the world never became what they are today without support and motivation, namely, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, Richard Brandson, Steve Jobs, and Elon Musk, just to name a few. Today, I want to share with everyone all the advice that was shared by the most famous, successful people in the world and tips to always stay motivated to reach your goal, and ultimately, become SUCCESSFUL!
How The Greats Did It?
Ever wondered how the people you see on television became as successful and wealthy as they are today? Well, all the money they have to buy all the expensive cars, jewelry and properties certainly didn’t fall out of the sky or happened over night. It was definitely a struggle, many sacrifices, many times falling down and having to get up. Now what we want to know is how they managed to get back up after experiencing fail after fail after fail? Why didn’t they just quit and move on to something else you might be asking yourself, but see where it got them by being persistent and having a never-say-die attitude; they are multi-billionaires.
Now, lets watch and read how these few respected people started with nothing and became what they are today by a little motivation and persistence:
1. Bill Gates
William Henry Gates III, better known as Bill Gates and is also known as the father of computers is the owner of Microsoft, the worlds largest computer software company. He was just an average tech-savvy kid who just loved computers and had big dreams, but like everybody else, he was unsure of what he wanted to be when he was grown up; He wanted to be a lawyer but decided against it as he wanted to pursue his dream of becoming something in the computer world. In the year 1975, Bill Gates and his friend, Paul Allen started Microsoft. Their vision of “a computer in every desktop and in every home” seemed unreal and far-fetched to many people. Today, because of Microsoft and many other companies, that vision has become a reality over the years, and personal technology is an integral part of our society.
It just goes to show that if you have a dream, and you pursue it with positivity and passion, you will reach it.
Quotes of Bill Gates
“Don’t compare yourself with anyone in this world… if you do so, you are insulting yourself.”
• This means that we are all unique, and we should be very proud of it. Being a successful person is subjective, but it is of utmost importance to be happy with your own life.
“Patience is a key element of success.”
• In order to achieve the most success (or any success actually) it is very important to practice patience because an opportunity can happen at any time, and only the select few who chose to be patient will reap the benefits.
“It’s fine to celebrate success, but it is more important to heed the lessons of failure”
• It is human nature to celebrate whenever something good happens, but what you shouldn’t do is ignore failure. If that is the case and failure is ignored, it will pop up at some point in time and you will not know how to deal with it.
2. Jeff Bezos
Jeff Bezos is the owner of the company that is known worldwide as Amazon, one of the biggest and most well-known multinational technology company that focuses on e-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming, as well as artificial intelligence. The company, as it stands, is worth over $1 trillion and it is just getting bigger and bigger. And to think it was one man that made such a successful company blossom and grow. It wasn’t always that way though, because with most things in life, everything starts with humble beginnings. When Mr Bezos was a little kid, he showed early interest in how things work, eventually turning his parent’s garage into a laboratory and rigging electrical contraptions in and around his house. When he was a teenager, he developed a love and passion for computers and graduated valedictorian of his high school. During his high school career, he started his first business called the Dream Institute, which was an educational summer camp for 4th, 5th and 6th graders. He then went on to pursue his interest in computers at Princeton University, where he would graduate summa cum laude in the year 1986 with a degree in computer science and electrical engineering.
After some years went by, he opened Amazon.com (named after the meandering South American river) in the year 1995. When the company started experiencing success, the rest as they say, is history. He is also the owner of The Washington Post and other publications affiliated with its parent company, The Washington Post Co. He purchased it in the year 2013 for an amount of $250 million!
That is all from a simple thing called positivity and determination. Allow me to share a few quotes of Jeff Bezos with you:
Quotes of Jeff Bezos
“What’s dangerous is not to evolve”
• This is confusing if it’s read once, but once you look at it properly it will start to make more sense. If you never grow as a person, you will never be a success.
“We’ve had three big ideas at Amazon that we’ve stuck with for 18 years, and they’re the reason we’re successful: Put the customer first. Invent. And be patient.”
• In short, it is of utmost importance that you always treat you customer like gold. You then need to work on your unique idea for your customer to see. Finally, you need to wait for customers to see potential and buy into your idea, and success will follow.
“It’s not an experiment if you know it’s going to work.”
• Also a confusing one when first looked at but makes a heck of a lot of sense when you read it a 2nd, 3rd and 4th time. This basically means that you have to take a shot in the dark and attempt something without fulling knowing if it’s going to work or not; meaning that one has to take risks if you want to be successful.
3. Elon Musk
Elon Reeve Musk is a South African-born American businessman and entrepreneur who is the founder of 3 major companies, namely, PayPal (founded in 1999), SpaceX (founded in 2002), and Tesla Motors (founded in 2003). He became a multimillionaire in his 20s when he sold his start-up company, Zip2, to a division of Compaq Computers. But everything started with humble beginnings. When Mr Musk was a kid, he was lost in his daydreams of inventions, so much so that his parents and doctors ordered a test to check his hearing. When he turned 10 years old, he developed an interest in computers. Eventually, by the age of 12 years old, he taught himself how to program, and was so good that he created a game he called Blastar, and sold it. A few years went by, and Mr Musk started attending grade school; he was short, bookish and an introvert. He was bullied until the age of 15 years old, and went through a growth spurt and started to take wrestling and karate classes to defend himself. Whoever bullied him must be regretting every single second of bullying him when they look where Mr Musk is now!
This is a good example of perseverance and determination (as well as passion) to reach your goal and succeed. Here is a few quotes of Elon Musk:
Quotes of Elon Musk
“If you get up in the morning and think the future is going to be better, it is a bright day. Otherwise, it’s not.”
• Everything that happens in life all lies in your mind. It might sound strange but whatever decision you subconsciously make in your mind, you will act on it.
“Persistence is very important. You should not give up unless you are forced to give up.”
• I have mentioned the word PERSISTENCE a few times in this post, because it is that important in everything that you do in life. As long as you are able to do it without hurting anyone or yourself, you need to push yourself as far as you can.
“I think it is possible for ordinary people to choose to be extraordinary.”
• You shouldn’t for one second think that you are ordinary; remember that nobody can ever replace you and you are the only version of you in this world, so you are special and unique in your own way, no matter what.
How You Can Do It?
Now that you have an idea of how some of the most successful people in the world accomplished what they have accomplished, it’s time to give you a list of steps to always push to be the best version of yourself. After this, you should actually practice it and implement it into your daily life and see what difference it would make.
Step 1: Write Down Your Goal
This is a very important step to becoming successful. Even if you write it down on a piece of paper, just so that you can remember it, because the chances of you forgetting it if you don’t write it down is pretty big! So do yourself a favor, and write down whatever goal you intend to reach on paper, and stick it on your wall, and don’t forget it.
Step 2: Keep In Mind The Reason As To Why You Wanted To Reach The Goal In The First Place!
Many people who intend on reaching a goal always realize when it’s almost too late why they wanted to get to their goal in the first place; so a very important tip from me to you is, always remember why you planned and worked so hard towards something. It could be to empower yourself, to show your family what you are capable of, to make enough money to buy a house of your own, anything.
Step 3: Start With A Plan To Reach Your Goal
If you fail to plan, you plan to fail! It’s funny but it’s the truth. Everything you do requires some sort of plan, or you won’t know where to start. This keeps you motivated to do more and more things; and the more in-depth your plan is, the more you will know what is required, and the more successful you will be in whatever you doing.
Step 4: Set Smaller Goals For Yourself To Achieve More!
Given the fact that you stay motivated and work hard towards the main goal, you will achieve it, but what if you set smaller goals in between? This will help a lot with motivation, because if you successfully complete the small goal, you will be hungry and determined to complete everything until the main goal is reached.
Step 5: Keep Track Of Your Progress
Every now and then, you should make it a MUST to always see how far your plan has come along and how close you are to reaching a particular milestone; this way, your planning will improve immensely, you will know exactly how to spend your time and you will always be motivated to do more.
Step 6: Don’t Be Too Hard On Yourself
Things are not always going to be perfect or run the way you want it to run; mistakes and failure is a part of life and it is part of the process of perfecting whatever you working on. So don’t be disappointed in yourself if you haven’t reached one of your small goals, or you maybe fell off track with a certain activity. If you are too hard on yourself, you might lose your motivation and will to continue to reach your goal.
Step 7: Give Yourself A Pat On The Back When You Do Become Successful
When you have reached a milestone, such as one of the smaller goals, you should think of rewarding yourself in order to stay motivated. This could be by going out with some good friends and go watch a movie, or take a drive to the beach and spend the day there; whatever makes you happy. Just make sure that you don’t have too much fun that you forget the main goal you actually want to reach!
That is it from my side my good people. I hope this was insightful enough for you to start believing in yourself and motivating yourself equally as much, because nobody else will do it for you. Remember, you are not alone though; there are people who will be generous and nice enough to lend a helping hand, but you need to always count on yourself first.
